For Graduating Students - Transfer Data to Personal Account

With graduation right around the corner, we would like to send out a reminder to recent and upcoming graduates about our Lewis University student account retention policy.
12 months after graduation or last enrollment in a course, your Lewis student account is deactivated and you no longer have access.

What you’ll lose access to:

@lewisu.edu Google account (Gmail, Drive, Photos), Blackboard, Microsoft 365, MyLewis portal, and other services.

What to do prior to account deactivation:

Use Google Takeout to export your Google data for archiving and/or use Google Takeout Transfer to transfer your Gmail and Google Drive data to a personal Gmail account. Instructions on using Google Takeout are available here.
Update your email address to a personal address on key services, some examples of which include:

Lewis University transcripts through Parchment
Amazon
Apple iCloud
Nelnet Student Account Platform (you can make payments to your student account without being logged in using Online Payments)
Banks/Credit Cards/Financial Institutions
Streaming Services
For alumni: Lewis Alumni & Friends

This is not an exhaustive list. Please review and update all systems and services that are linked to your Lewis student email address.
