Students are encouraged to call or walk over to the Center for assistance during Center hours. Staff will respond as soon as possible and assist students in receiving appropriate care.
For non-emergencies contact Campus Police at Ext. 5222 or Residence Life staff at DUTY (Ext. 3889) and appropriate assistance will be provided.
There are also several off-campus immediate care facilities nearby, if you are in need of non-emergency medical care after hours.
If your illness/injury is non-life threatening, but requires a trip to the emergency room, there are several hospitals nearby.
In the case of a life-threatening emergency, students should call Campus Police at Ext. 5911 for emergency assistance. EMS will be activated.
Should University staff determine the need for an emergency transfer to the hospital for medical reasons, the Romeoville Police/Fire departments will be called. The individuals who respond to the 911 call will assess the situation and, if appropriate, transfer the student to a local hospital. In these cases, students are financially responsible for all costs related to the ambulance and off-campus care. Staff does not transport students off campus. It is the student’s responsibility to arrange transportation to an off-campus care facility in non-emergency situations.
