Over 1,300 Degrees Conferred May 15-16 at Lewis University

Lewis University celebrated Commencement ceremonies for more than 1,300 students May 15-16 on the university’s campus in Romeoville.
The weekend began at noon on Friday, May 15, in the Sancta Alberta Chapel with a Mass of Celebration for all the accomplishments of our graduates, as well as for the love and support of their families, friends, and educators.
The Afternoon Degree Ceremony began at 3:30 p.m. for the College of Aviation, Science, and Technology undergraduate and graduate degree recipients.
During the ceremony, Joshua Brown, Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree recipient, was recognized with the Father Aquinas Colgan Award. It’s the university’s highest honor for academic achievement, leadership, and service.
Lewis University Alumnus Dr. Arvid Johnson received an honorary degree for his life’s work in advancing science, higher education, and student success as a researcher, board member, dean, and university president.
The Evening Degree Ceremony honored the graduates of the College of Education and Social Sciences as well as the College of Humanities, Fine Arts, and Communications. This ceremony honored students not only receiving their bachelor’s and master’s degrees but also those receiving their doctoral degrees.
On Saturday, May 16, the Morning Degree Ceremony featured the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. This ceremony honored students not only receiving their bachelor’s and master’s degrees but also those receiving their doctoral degrees.
