Simmons is a Chicago-based artist and professor. His work explores the possibilities for invention within the printed image using the Xerox printer as a starting point. An accumulated personal library of visual information collected over the last thirty years is deconstructed, manipulated and rearranged to create paintings that present a familiar visual language in an evolving context.
The Department of Art and Design manages the Wadsworth Family Gallery events, which include Lewis University student shows, local and regional artist shows, annual high school exhibits, faculty shows, academic-based exhibitions, and cultural and religious-based art shows.
