Lewis Celebrates Record Success at 2024 Annual Signum Fidei Event

As part of Lewis University's $50 million Students at the Center, For a Better World comprehensive campaign, Colleen Ahearn, vice president of University Advancement, announced that this year's Annual Signum Fidei Celebration on October 19, 2024 raised more than $320,000 in one evening to support the Lewis Mission Fund. 

"This campaign and the overwhelming support we saw at the Signum Fidei Celebration highlight our community's dedication to transforming lives through education," said Ahearn. "Each gift to the Mission Fund and the campaign at large creates powerful opportunities for students who are most in need, ensuring that a quality Lewis education remains within reach."

The Signum Fidei Celebration brought together alumni, donors, faculty, staff and friends for an unforgettable evening, celebrating the University's progress toward its $50 million campaign. The Students at the Center, For a Better World campaign not only supports the Mission Fund but also fuels scholarships, campus enhancements, essential programs and more, aimed at providing an affordable education for every Lewis student.

With one of the highest turnouts in the event's history, the evening highlighted the community's shared commitment to the future of Lewis students. "The turnout speaks volumes about the community that makes the Lewis student experience possible," said Dr. David Livingston, Lewis University President. "Each of you helps make this journey achievable for so many students."

This year's celebration included heartfelt honors for Bryan '82 '93 and Mary '82 '93 Durkin, whose contributions and ongoing support embody the values of Lewis University. The night also provided a special tribute to the late Dr. Juan Ojeda, whose legacy will remain a part of the Lewis University and St. Augustine College merger.

The University extends its gratitude to the event's sponsors, whose continued commitment and generosity enables Lewis to support initiatives like the Mission Fund.
