Community Alert: Domestic Battery Incident 09/01/24

This afternoon, 09/01/2024, a resident student reported to the Lewis University Police Department that she was the victim of a domestic battery at the hands of male suspect not affiliated with Lewis, with whom she had a previous relationship. The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 pm in a residence hall. The incident was reported to the police department at approximately 3:00 pm. At the time of this message the whereabouts of the suspect are not known. He was seen on campus at least once after the incident occurred.

LUPD is collaborating with the Romeoville Police Department in investigating this case. The suspect is described as an 18-year-old male, approximately 5’09” with a medium build, light skin and medium length dark hair with a bruise under his right eye, last seen wearing a black tee shirt and black pants. Community members are reminded to be alert to their surroundings, maintain building security by not propping doors or allowing entry to unknown persons and to report any suspicious activity to LUPD at 815-836-5911.
