Lewis Women's Cross Country Captures Small School Title at National Catholic Invitational Friday

The Lewis University women's cross country team won the small school championship after finishing first place among non NCAA DI schools while placing third overall at the National Catholic Invite on Friday (Sept. 15). The Flyer's finished with 65 points.
Leading the way for Lewis was junior Hannah Smrcka (Cory, Penn.) who finished the 5K race with a time of 17:50.2. Senior Abbey Kozak (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) was the next Flyer to cross the finish line after recording a time of 18:00.5.
Senior Caroline Pacer-Ryan (Wheaton, IL/West Chicago) was not far behind Abbey as she finished with a time of 18:07.5. Senior Anna Kozak (Lockport, IL/Lockport Township) crossed the finish line next for Lewis after recording a time of 18:23.1.
Graduate Student Juliana Stogsdill (Plainfield, Ill.) was right behind Kozak after finishing the race with a time of 18:24.8. Next up for Lewis was another Graduate Student Darby Roth (Doylestown, Penn.) who had a time of 18:27.7.
Kate Guderjan (Frankfort, IL/Lincolnway East) finished next for the Flyers after the sophomore crossed the finish line with a time of 18:32.4. Rachel Morrison crossed the finish line at 18:39.7.
Naylah Allen (Oswego, Ill./Oswego East) was ninth and 40th overall after finishing the race at 18:44.3. Madilyn Calloway (Rochester, IN/Rochester Community) wrapped up the top 10 finishers for Lewis who was right behind Allen after recording a time of 18:45.5.
