Lewis Alumni Leet, Pulliam to Compete in USA Track and Field National Championships
Published: June 23, 2022.Lewis University graduates Michael Leet and Cierra Pulliam will be competing at the USA Track and Field Outdoor National Championships beginning Thursday, June 23 at the University of Oregon.
Leet, a 2018 graduate, was a three-time All-American in track and cross country while at Lewis. He will be competing in the 3,000-meter steeple chase and is looking to qualify for the World Championships, which will be held next month also in Eugene, Ore.
The prelims are scheduled for 4:05 p.m. central time on Thursday with the finals scheduled for Saturday at 12:04 p.m. central.
Pulliam, an eight-time All-American in the long and triple jump while at Lewis and 2019 graduate, will be competing in the triple jump at nationals. The top three athletes in each event will have the honor of representing the USA at the upcoming World Championships.
She will jump at 10:30 a.m. central on Saturday. The top nine jumpers after the first three jumps will advance to the finals which will be held right after the initial jumps.
