Plane Pull Hauls In $33,000 for Special Olympics Illinois

Lewis University hosted its second Special Olympics Illinois Plane Pull on April 30. The event raised over $33,000 for Special Olympics Illinois and brought hundreds of people to the Romeoville campus.

United Airlines partnered with Lewis University to present the fundraising event. The Village of Romeoville, Romeoville Police Department, Sodexo, and Republic Airways sponsored the Plane Pull, attracting 30 participating teams.

Two Lewis University alumni, Captain Leigh Agustin and Captain Raymond Sanchez, flew the aircraft into and out of KLOT. 

The Lewis University Aviation fraternity Alpha Eta Rho, not only competed but won its division for Lewis University and was in the top 4 teams overall. Their trophy is on display in the Harold E. White Aviation Center.
