Markovic Discusses Lessons Learned From 9/11

Dr. Vesna Markovic, chair and associate professor of justice, law and public safety studies, served as a panelist for a September 11 Global Counter Terrorism Council virtual conference titled “Changes and Evolution of Counter Terrorism Strategies since 9/11 till the COVID-19 Era."

They scrutinized the issues bought to light by the 9/11/01 terror attack. Broadly, the discussion revolved around the lessons learned from 9/11, and if the world had forgotten them. The topics of discussion included the following concepts:

·       Retrospective analysis of 9/11

·       Strategies employed to counter terrorism around the world

·       Changes in strategies employed to combat Terrorism

·       Our response to the terror attacks since 9/11 dating up to the current era
