Lewis' Coenen Chosen To Men's Volleyball Preseason All-America Team

Lewis University men's volleyball player Ryan Coenen (Franklin, WI/Franklin) was selected by Off The Block/Springbak, Inc. to the Preseason All-America Second Team.

Coenen was the 2017 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Newcomer of the Year after finishing in the top 30 in the nation last year with a 3.20 kills per game average.

He was also tabbed an AVCA and Second Team All-American last year and was named to the Off The Block/Springbak, Inc. Freshman All-America Team.

Matt Yoshimoto (Ventura, CA/Adolfo Camarillo) and Mitch Perinar (Channahon, IL/Minooka) both received multiple votes for the All-America Teams.

The 16-member voting committee was made up of head men's volleyball coaches and volleyball reporters from across the country.

The Flyers open their regular season schedule in Provo, Utah for matches against No. 7 UC Irvine (Jan. 5) and No. 3 BYU (Jan. 6).
