Lewis Softball Earns Easton / NFCA Division II All-Academic Team Accolades

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced on Tuesday (Oct. 3) that the Lewis University softball team finished 11th overall in NCAA Division II with a 3.632 cumulative grade point average for the 2016-17 schoolyear. This moves the Flyers up five spots from their 16th-place standing in 2015-16.

"I am very proud of our team and how hard they work in the classroom," Lewis head softball coach Becky Pearl said. "We always strive to improve upon ourselves both academically and athletically."

The Flyers also had 12 players selected as NFCA Scholar-Athletes. In order to win this award, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average for the 2016-17 schoolyear.
