Computer Science Majors Attend Grace Hopper Conference

Published: October 28, 2015.

Three female Lewis University Computer Science students attended the annual Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. The world’s largest gathering of women technologists was held this year in Houston, Texas.

Grecia Equihua of Summit and Thao Le of Oswego were awarded Anita Borg Institute scholarships to attend. The travel of Victoria Vodicka of Romeoville was funded thanks to the generosity of the Computer Science Advisory Board.

The Grace Hopper Conference gives women an opportunity to build their personal networks and share their perspectives. The conference gives them a very clear indication that they are not working alone and that women have significantly influenced and will continue to transform the field of Computer Science.
