Presidential Search Update from Lewis University Board Chair

Presidential Search Update from Lewis University Board Chair

Published: January 14, 2026.

Dear Members of the Lewis University Community,

I am writing to share an update on the presidential search process as we move into its final stages.

The Presidential Search Committee has now completed in-person interviews with the 10 semi-finalists, and I am pleased to report that this was an exceptionally impressive group of candidates. Each brought strong leadership experience in higher education and a deep appreciation for the Lewis University and Lasallian mission. The quality of this group reflects both the strength of our institution and the thoughtful engagement of our community throughout this process.

Following these interviews, the Search Committee has advanced three finalists to the next stage of consideration. These candidates will participate in campus visits during the first two weeks of February, where they will meet with a select group of faculty, staff, and students as part of our continued discernment.

As a reminder, this remains a confidential (closed) search, which allows us to attract and engage outstanding sitting presidents and senior leaders. While participation in finalist meetings will be limited, the insights gathered will be shared with the Board of Trustees as part of the final decision-making process.

The full Board of Trustees will engage with the finalists and we are hopeful to make a final announcement around March 1.

Thank you for your continued trust, engagement, and prayers as we near this important milestone. We are encouraged by the strength of the candidates and remain confident that this process will result in a leader who will build on Dr. Livingston’s legacy and guide Lewis University into its next chapter.

With gratitude,

Tim Ferrarell
Chair, Board of Trustees
Lewis University
