Lewis Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Teams Earn USTFCCCA Team All-Academic Award

Lewis University's men's and women's track and field programs both received the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Team All-Academic Award on Thursday (July 22). The teams also combined to have 11 student-athletes named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team.

Natasha Bernett (McAlpin, Ill./Lane Tech), Kyla Chalmers (Elk Grove Village, Ill./James B. Conant), Grace Harris (Dousman, Wis./Homeschooled), Allison Heinzer (Sugar Grove, Ill./Kaneland HS), Jada Hoffman (Chicago, Ill./Kenwood Academy), Anna Laudizio (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North), Kassady Learn (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo), Jamie Poppen (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway West), Aliza Van Den Elzen (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) and Kylie Wymer (Rock Island, Ill./Rock Island) were named to the women's team while Keegan Zack (Watseka, Ill./Watseka Community) received the honor on the men's side.

A total of more than 375 women and more than 325 women earned USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic honors in 2020-21.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.

As a team, the Flyer women finished the year with a 3.42 GPA while the Flyer men had a 3.20 GPA.
