President's Message on Vaccination Requirement for Fall 2021

Published: June 1, 2021.

Dear Faculty and Staff,

We are all looking forward to the upcoming academic year and the opportunity to be together again as a community. The Leadership Team has continued to meet to consider all the factors necessary to a successful school year under the current circumstances.

As part of our ongoing mitigation efforts against COVID-19, we determined that Lewis will require all students, faculty, and staff to be vaccinated prior to the start of the fall 2021 semester.

Over the past few months, COVID-19 vaccines have proven to be the most effective defense against the spread of this disease. A vaccination requirement will contribute to the overall health of our community, protect the most vulnerable, and best position us to thrive in the fall semester and beyond.

If for some reason you are unable to meet this requirement, please email the Office of Human Resources at no later than June 15, 2021, so that appropriate accommodations can be considered. No other action is required at this stage. Additional details for all employees will be provided soon.

For your reference, we have also created some FAQ's to provide additional information.

Thank you again for your commitment to a healthy Lewis University. I wish you a safe and restful summer and look forward to being with you on campus this fall.

Dr. David J. Livingston
