COVID-19 Vaccination Status Reporting, Exemption Request

Published: June 3, 2021.

We have begun the month of June with renewed hope for a robust summer term and a strong sense that COVID-19 mitigation efforts are making an impact locally, nationally, and internationally.

On Tuesday, President Livingston announced that as part of our ongoing mitigation efforts against COVID-19, Lewis will require students, faculty, and staff to be vaccinated prior to the start of the Fall 2021 semester. COVID-19 vaccines have proven to be the most effective defense against the spread of this disease and the requirement will contribute to the overall health of our community and best position us for in-person classes and co-curricular activities.

Students, faculty, and staff can report vaccination status, request an exemption, and engage with university support by reporting their COVID-19 vaccination status through the LewisU APP. The tile on the APP is titled, “COVID-19 Vaccination Status.” Students who are unable to access the APP, can use this weblink for their submission, whereas faculty and staff can use this weblink. We take your privacy seriously, and all information submitted will be kept confidential.

All students will be able to have a high-quality academic experience in the fall. We will continue to provide various flexible course formats, including online options, to help our students achieve success.

We anticipate further guidance soon from the State of Illinois regarding an anticipated shift to Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois plan. Our Lewis University Leadership Team will continue to analyze guidance from the state and other authorities, and we will adjust COVID-19 policies and other mitigation efforts as the summer progresses.

Thank you for your flexibility, tenacity, and care for others as we live the Flyers Promise and work together to overcome many challenges during this pandemic.
