Women's Track & Field Earns Two Provo at Olivet Invite

Lewis Women's Track & Field Completes Olivet Nazarene Invitational

Lewis University women's track and field participated in the Olivet Nazarene Invitational with the team's performance highlighted by two earned provisional standards.

For the Flyers, one of the provisional marks came from Cierra Pulliam (Plainfield, Ill./Romeoville) who took first in the triple jump earning a DII provisional mark with a leap of 11.95 meters. Pulliam also placed first in the long jump recording a 5.58 meter mark and she finished fourth in the 200 meter dash with 26.13.

The other provisional mark earned by Lewis came from Lane Kadlec (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) who finished first in the shot put with a toss of 14.11 meters. She would also take second in the weight throw with 17.38.

Finishing third in the 60 meter hurdles was Joelle Ataessien (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young HS) who finished in 9.14. Ataessien also took fourth in the 60 meter dash with 8.02.

Megan Shaffer (Mattoon, Ill./Mattoon) put in a solid performance for the Flyers as well finishing second in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:30.24. In the 800 she placed sixth with 2:23.16.

Also running the 800 meter run was Ashleigh Macleod (Mishawaka, IN/Penn) who took second in the race with 2:18.54.

Zoe Mead (Princeton, Ill./Princeton) finished third in the 800 meter with 2:21.54.

In the pole vault Angelica Arriaga (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet Catholic) placed fifth, getting over the bar at 3.05 meter, while Jamie Poppen (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway West) tied for seventh with the bar at 2.90.

Molly Ogren (Mishawaka, Ind./Marian) and Kassady Learn (San Diego, CA, Rancho Bernardo) took sixth and tenth respectively in the 3000 meter run with Ogren finishing in 10:53.41 and Learn finishing in 10:59.06.

Aurora Breeden (Carterville, Ill./Carterville) finished eighth in the 800 meter with 2:26.98.

Carrie Johnson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake HS) had a multi top ten finish day, placing eighth in the 200 meter dash with 26.53 and ninth in the 60 meter dash 8.15.

In the 800 meter run Jenna Weidacher (Woodridge, IL/Montini Catholic) finished ninth with a time of 2:27.37.

Abbey Galusha (Williamsville, Ill./Williamsville, HS) came in ninth for the high jump with a 1.42 meter jump.

Taylor Jone would take tenth in the 200 meter dash with 26.65.

Lewis will head to Allendale, Michigan for the Big Meet on February 9 for the team's next meet.
