Men's & Women's Swimming Named to CSCAA for Fifth Time

Lewis Men's & Women's Swimming Named to CSCAA for Fifth Straight Year

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America announced that both Lewis University swimming teams earned the distinction of Scholar All-America team.

Lewis men's and women's swimming is awarded the honor for the fifth year in a row with the men holding a 3.21 and women holding a 3.28. For the men, Lewis was one of nine teams in the GLVC that earned the honor and the women's team was one of eight. In the conference, there were eight teams that earned the honor for both men's and women's team including Lewis.

"I am very pleased with the academic success of both the men's and women's teams." Lewis head swim coach Roger Karns said, "Our philosophy has always been that you can achieve excellence in the classroom and excellence in the pool without sacrificing one for the other. I am very proud of what both squads accomplished and I know they will use it as inspiration to continue academic excellence."

The Team Scholar All-American Award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who achieved a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America is the oldest professional organization of college coaches in America. The CSCAA is dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
