Alexis Luna Offers Advice to Fellow Lewis University Graduates

Published: December 18, 2017.

Alexis Luna offered the Lasallian Address during the December 17 Lewis University Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony for the College of Arts & Sciences.

The Streamwood, Illinois resident, who earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, reminded her fellow graduates, “Lewis University’s Mission does not stop once we graduate. We should continue to be inspired by those values in our future.”

Each Commencement, one graduating senior is chosen to deliver the address, a speech that reflects the principles that guide the University’s Mission as they relate to the speaker’s personal life. It also recognizes the values of diversity, social justice, and service to the poor.

Luna was active in a variety of activities while a student at Lewis University. The Peer Minister volunteered on a LUMNINATE service trip in 2017 and at the Will-Grundy Center for Independent Living. She served in a leadership role of the Koinonia retreats in 2017 in addition to being employed by Lewis University Center for Academic Success & Enrichment as well as the Library. Luna earned Dean’s List honors multiple times as she was active in the Resident Hall Association, Best Buddies and Psi Chi International Honor Society.
