Lewis Men's Volleyball's Eric Fitterer Signs Pro Contract

Former Lewis men's volleyball opposite hitter Eric Fitterer (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) has signed a contract to play professional volleyball for CAI-Voleibol Teruel in Teruel, Spain. Fitterer helped Lewis finish as national runner-up in 2015.

CAI-Voleibol Teruel claimed the title of Superlinga Champions in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014, as well as runner up in 2015. They were named Copa del Rey Champions in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015.

Fitterer played for Lewis from 2012-15. In 2015 he was the NCAA Elite 89 honoree, a CoSIDA Capital One Academic Second Team All-American, an American Volleyball Coaches Association Second Team All-American and a member of both the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association First Team and All-Tournament Team. He totaled 772 kills and 84 aces in his Lewis career.

Fitterer is the second member of the 2015 squad to sign a professional contract. Greg Petty (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) joined Leka Volley in Kuopio, Finland in June.
