O’Hare is Once Again the Nation’s Busiest Airport

For those of us who live in the Chicago area, this comes as no surprise. However, with the growth of Hartfield Airport in Atlanta, the distinction of being the busiest has alluded O’Hare for the past several years.

What is the significance of being the busiest?

According to industry experts, it reinforces the importance of O’Hare and Midway as airline hubs and provides an economic boost to the local economy. With plans for the $8 billion dollar O’Hare expansion also taking shape, it is a title that Chicago may not relinquish anytime soon.

This also comes as great news for our over 600 aviation program students at Lewis. There is perhaps no better region in the country to study aviation than in Chicago. The volume of headquarters, employees, internships and eventual jobs, is simply unmatched by other markets.

In addition, with aviation job projections incredibly robust, there has never been a better time to pursue a career in this industry.
