Brunswick Charitable Foundation

  • Act score of 21 or above
  • Be minority woman (Preference given to woman who are single parents)
  • Determined needy
  • GPA of 3.0 at LU
  • Have attended LU for one year
  • Be registered as a FT student in the College of Nursing w/ a strong desire, as evidence in an interview with the selection committee to pursue nursing as a profession
  • Be judged academically promising by the faculty or Dean of the College of Nursing
  • Be willing to sign a contract with a payback clause

The Carey-Gillespie Endowed Scholarship

  • Full-Time at LU
  • Participate in LU's program of intercollegiate athletics
  • Be deemed financially needy by LU's FA office
  • ACT score of 21 or above or GPA of 2.75 or above *Maintain a GPA of 2.75 of above while at LU

The Charles and Helen Ford Endowed Scholarship

  • Student majoring in an UG program within the department of justice, law, and public safety studies
  • Be the child/grandchild/great-grandchild of a current or retired sworn law enforcement agent (federal/state/local levels) who is in good standing in the career field
  • May be an incoming freshman, transfer student, or current LU UG
  • Be a bachelor degree-seeking student
  • Maintain a FT course load with a minimum of 12 hours
  • Be in good standing with LU, their HS, or current school depending on their status at LU
  • Be willing to submit HS/college transcripts for review by scholarship committee
  • No financial need is necessary

  • Must be accepted at LU with a declared major of either Art, Music, or Theatre *GPA cum of 2.5 or better

  • 2 letters of recommendation as follows: from one of the applicant's former instructors in his or her declared field of study (discussing past performance and future potential and why in their opinion the student is deserving) and from a non-family member who knows the applicant well enough to discuss their character, motivation, and ambitions

  • Submit a written essay not to exceed 100 words which discusses the reason for pursuing his or her field of study and why receiving their degree is important toward achieving their goals.

Elvira Hogan Endowed Scholarship Fund For Governmental Accounting

  • Major in Public Accounting
  • Prefered student who demonstrates interest in working in the local, municial or federal governmental arena

Brother James Gaffney, FSC ‘Excellence in Leadership’ Endowed Scholarship

  • May be of average academic ability but who display special traits of leadership
  • Make a strong commitment to serve their communities
  • Initial preference given to qualifying students from the Joliet area with secondary consideration given to students from the Will County area
  • Be judged needy by Lewis University’s Office of Financial Aid

The Frank Bozich Memorial Scholarship

  • Outstanding FT Aviation student (Sophomore, Junior, or Senior)
  • Basis of financial need and fulfillment of criteria stated herein
  • Maintenance of at least a 2.25 GPA at Lewis University (to be evaluated each semester)
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the aviation field by participating in aviation programs outside of the required LU course work
  • Transfer students are eligible provided they meet the other criteria

The Gladys M. Meehan Endowed Scholarship

  • Education major
  • Adults who are at least 25 years old
  • Attending LU in order to obtain a degree which will enable them to become teachers, preferably in parochial school

Julianne Murphy Scholarship Award

  • Sophomore student enrolled in the college of nursing, preferably at the Little company of Mary Hospital Education site
  • Faculty review committee will choose a recipient based on:
    • Spirit and determination to succeed as a nurse regardless of the difficulties he/she has to deal with
    • Solid study patterns and results demonstrated through a minimum 2.75 G.P.A.
    • Willingness to assist others, adjust to college life and achieve their goals
