Sales Excellence Program
In today’s competitive job market, recent graduates must be able to set themselves apart from other candidates, regardless of the industry. In order to provide the training and resources for Lewis University graduates to succeed after they complete their degree, the College of Business faculty have developed the Sales Excellence Program.
Sales Techniques Taught by Real-World Professionals
This innovative, Business-to-Business (B2B) Sales education program exposes students to a multitude of industries, insights, practical skill sets, and success strategies that can only be taught by the top sales staff in the industry. Bob Bergman in the College of Business recruits B2B Sales professionals from regional, national, and international companies to teach the curriculum. Previous participating companies include Sherwin-Williams, Aerotek, and Penske, to name a few.
Become Qualified While Working Toward Your Degree
Students begin the program in the Fall term of their senior year. With just two courses and two workshops required to complete the program, students can learn valuable sales techniques without delaying graduation.
- Fall Coursework:
- Salesmanship (3 credit hours)
- Win-Win/Negotiation (1 credit hour – workshop)
- Spring Coursework:
- Advanced Sales (3 credit hours)
- Business Etiquette (1 credit hour – workshop)
In addition to guest instructors, the curriculum includes field trips, job shadows, role-plays, trade show visits, and other activities, providing unique experiences outside of the traditional classroom.
Anyone Can Learn How to Sell
From the pen in your hand to the shoes on your feet – every product and service needs someone to sell it. Students in the College of Business will undoubtedly benefit from new sales skills; however, non-business majors need to learn how to sell themselves as well – which is why this 8-credit-hour program is offered to all Lewis University seniors.
