Partnership Program

Earn your Bachelor of Science in Nursing at a substantially reduced tuition cost.

NOTE: No new students will be admitted to the RN/BSN program effective Fall 2021.

Joliet Junior College (JJC) students can enjoy earning their associate’s degree from JJC and their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Lewis University in as little as four years.

Degree Format

The program consists of 128 credit hours. You can earn up to 78 of those at JJC. (You need to at least earn an associate’s degree. Qualifying courses taken prior to JJC can be transferred in, or additional courses can be taken at Lewis if your total is less than 78.) At least 38 will be earned from Lewis University. You will be awarded 12 Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) credit hours for passing the NCLEX exam, after completing approximately half your coursework at Lewis. Upon successful completion, you will hold an associate’s degree from JJC and a BSN from Lewis University.

Instruction Location

You’ll begin taking courses at JJC. Upon completing the coursework required for your associate’s degree, you’ll sit for the NCLEX and then transfer to Lewis University where you’ll complete the coursework required for your BSN. Lewis classes are held online synchronous or blended.

Discounted Tuition

The initial credit hours taken at JJC will be billed at their current tuition rates. Credit hours taken at Lewis University tuition will be billed at the accelerated tuition posted rate for the RN-BSN program. JJC will initially award financial aid. Once you earn your associate’s degree or attain junior status (75 credit hours completed), your financial aid will be processed by Lewis.

Who can enroll in the program?

  • Students who are enrolled in or have completed the Associate of Applied Science degree program at JJC as outlined in the JJC/Lewis program agreement and passed the NCLEX exam may be considered for admission.
