Learn how to use Computer Science as a tool for understanding how humans relate and communicate through music.

The Department of Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences and Department of Music are excited to offer an innovative program that provides students the opportunity to master two areas of interest - Computer Science and Music (CS+Music). The B.A. in CS+Music program provides students interested in both music and computing a unique pathway to combine their passions and produce creative works. Upon graduation, students will be able to develop software that can produce, record, and analyze music using a variety of techniques, including tools that the student creates themselves.

Why Computer Science + Music?

The ability to collect, analyze, and visualize connections and trends within large datasets has enabled scholars in every discipline to gain new insights and raise new questions. Furthermore, every organization has information technology needs that require attention from skilled experts. A CS+Music degree prepares students to assist colleagues and music-focused organizations investigate their data more deeply and produce works more creatively with the help of technology, providing a clear path to a well-paying and opportunity-rich career.
