Live TV. Live Radio. Hands-on experience working with millions of dollars in state-of-the-art equipment. Award-winning student media organizations, including The Flyer newspaper, WLRA Radio and the Lewis University Television Network.

The Department of Communications offers a broad curriculum that not only prepares you for production and on-air talent roles, but the comprehensive understanding necessary to climb the career ladder in a wide spectrum of media-based industries. You will learn the fundamental principles of good communications, and be exposed to best communication practices that fit all organizations.

Freshly designed for the 21st century student, our updated majors and new concentrations help students develop a broad mastery of skills in an ever-changing communications landscape.


From leading roles through Lewis' Philip Lynch Theatre to internships in New York City and Chicago with CBS News, Courtney Everett made the very most of her time at Lewis. Since graduating, Everett has accepted a job with an NBC affiliate.
