DEGREE PROGRAMS FOR: BIOCHEMISTRY
The Biochemistry program at Lewis University offers instruction and laboratory experiences that are designed to enable students to understand living systems at the molecular level from both the biological and chemical points of view. Both the bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees in Biochemistry prepare students for entrance into such fields as technical sales, patent law, and marketing.
Students who obtain a bachelor of science degree are also prepared to pursue graduate studies in biochemistry, molecular biology, forensic science or any related interdisciplinary fields. Graduates may also be interested in furthering their undergraduate education entrance into other professional schools.
In order to be considered for entry into any majors (B.A. and B.S.) in Biochemistry, Chemical Physics, and Chemistry, first-year students must have a composite score of 21 on the ACT, transfer students must have earned a 2.75 cumulative GPA or better, and students currently attending Lewis University must have an overall GPA of 2.75 or better. Facility in mathematics and laboratory sciences is essential .
