In 29 states it is legal to deny employment, fire, and discriminate against people because sexual orientation. In 38 states it is legal to deny employment, fire, and discriminate against people because of their gender identity or expression.

The Employment Non-Employment Act (ENDA) would prevent sexual orientation and gender identity to be the basis for hiring, firing, promotion, and compensation.

The bill is still stuck in Congress.
