The Harold E. White Aviation Center is a state-of-the-art facility which opened
with the support of Harold White, local businessman and benefactor. The building
includes everything you would need as an aviation major:
- Flight simulators
- Dispatch center
- Maintenance training labs
- Aviation library
- Computer lab
- Classrooms
- Offices
Adjacent buildings house both flight and maintenance training aircraft if
you are interested in aviation maintenance. If you are planning on majoring
in aviation flight, you will spend time at the Lewis University Airport and
runways, administered by the Joliet Port Authority, that are also directly
outside of these buildings.
Next to the Aviation Center, you will not miss the Boeing 737. In July of
1999, Lewis was the recipient of this plane, donated to the University by United
Airlines. This Boeing 737 is fully operational and is used by aviation classes
for large aircraft operation and familiarization.
If you are an aviation student, you will have the opportunity to participate
in a variety of extracurricular activities including:
- Award winning flight team
- Aviation management organization
- National aviation fraternity
