Wireless Network

Lewis University students, faculty and staff now have wireless Internet access throughout our Romeoville campus.  The Internet is wirelessly accessible from residence halls, offices, and classrooms as well as common areas, such as the Student Union, Charlie’s Place, The Den, Courtyard Café, the Recreation Center and the Green.  All community members can login to the Lewis “WIN - Wireless Internet Nodes” from a computer configured with wireless capabilities to access Blackboard, register for classes, obtain other online services, or surf the Internet.

Login Information to the Wireless Network:

STUDENTS

• Username: Your Lewis username
  
  
  • The default username will be your first name followed by your middle initial and then your last name truncated at 18 characters. For example, if your name is John J Doe, your username is johnjdoe.  If your name is Jonathon L. Jacobson-Smith, your username is jonathonljacobsons. If your name is John C Smith and johncsmith is already assigned to another user, your username is johncsmith01.
    
    
• Password:   Your Lewis ID number
   

FACULTY/ STAFF 

• Username: Your Lewis username.
  
  
  • The standard format is:  First 6 letters of your last name plus first 2 letters of your first name. For example: a login for Mark Johnson would be johnsoma.
    
    
  • If your last name is less than 6 characters, use your entire last name plus the first two letters of your first name. For example: the username for Mark Sky would be skyma.
    
    
  • Occasionally, because of duplication, usernames don’t quite follow the pattern. The second ‘rule’ for generating a username is: first 6 characters of your last name plus first initial plus middle initial. For Example: Since Mark Johnson is already johnsoma, Matthew L Johnson might be johnsoml.
    
    
• Password:   Your Lewis ID number
