Listed below are general campus calling information and important emergency numbers.
Placing Calls
- To dial any on-campus number, just dial the 4-digit extension.
- To dial an off-campus number, dial 9, then the call as you normally
would, including 1 + the area code if outside 815. This will
require the entry of your Resicom authorization code except for
calls to 9-911.
- To call Campus Security non-emergency,
dial the extension 5222.
- To call Campus Security
emergency , dial extension 5911.
- To place an emergency call, dial 9-911 (The first 9 is to get off-campus).
- To dial toll-free numbers (800, 888, etc.) you must enter your
Resicom authorization code. This is necessary because some toll-free
numbers can
generate charges to the calling phone.
- House (or emergency) phones are located in, or outside the entrance
to, most buildings on campus. You can use these for on-campus
calls, or use your authorization code to call off-campus.

- To dial a student extension from off-campus, dial (815)-834-6xxx
or (815)-588-7xxx.
- To dial a staff or faculty extension from off-campus, dial (815)-836-5xxx.
- To call into the voice mail system, dial (815)-836-5100.
