UA Mission
The Mission of the Office for University
Advancement at Lewis University is to obtain gifts and grants for annual operations,
capital improvements, programs, and
endowments. In support of the Mission, the Office fosters relationships with key constituencies,
including alumni and parents, through a variety of cultivation and communication activities.
Volunteer Leadership
Lewis University has a number of volunteer boards that help us with
critical decisions about the direction and future of the University. We
are pleased to have such an outstanding group of volunteer leaders, who
range from alumni, dedicated members of the business community, and long-time
friends.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is the overseeing body of the University. Members
of the Board are selected for their professional expertise and support
of the University. In the truest sense they are the advocates, advisors,
and ambassadors of Lewis University. Responsibilities of the Board include
the school's financial stability, budget formation, supervision of academic
programs, strategic planning, and setting and approving University policy.
Trustee Development Committee
A subset of the Board of Trustees, the members of the Trustee Development
Committee are committed members of the Board who have taken on the additional
responsibilities of providing guidance, information, and support to the Lewis
University Office for University Advancement. They are also charged with
helping to secure funds for the University through identification, cultivation,
and solicitation of members of the Lewis community, fellow members of the
Board, and the business community.
Council of Regents
The Council of Regents serves as an executive advisory group that engages
in periodic strategic discussions with the President and senior leadership
at Lewis University. The President appoints membership to the council.
Members serve as influential and representative citizens and friends of
Lewis University while providing encouragement and counsel to the President
and the University as it pursues the highest of aspirations.
Cultural Advisory Board
The Cultural Advisory Board is an advisory and support group for the
Fine Arts Program at Lewis. Their mission includes bringing advice, support
and advancement of arts and cultural programs to Lewis University. They
also serve as a liaison between Lewis University and area organizations
with similar missions, help plan and assist with the annual Arts Gala and
other activities, and provide financial support for the Arts and Ideas
series at Lewis University.
