75th Anniversary

The groundbreaking for the first campus buildings took place on February 9, 1931. Present for the ceremony were numerous officials from the Archdiocese of Chicago and Michael Fitzpatrick, whose family donated the original 160 acres of land for the campus. Mr. Fitzpatrick is the second man from the right. In April of 2001, a timecapsule was assembled by students and buried outside the Sancta Alberta Chapel to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the groundbreaking.
