The Lewis University Gospel Choir was formed over twenty years ago by a small band of students interested in gospel music.

Today, The Lewis University Gospel Choir is multi-cultured and diverse and has grown to more than fifty members.

Anyone interested in gospel music is welcome to join. There are no prerequisites for becoming a member of the gospel choir.

The Gospel Choir hosts several annual events, which include:

  • Leadership Prayer Breakfast

  • Gospel Fest

  • Thanksgiving Musical

  • Community based church appearances

  • Workshops involving other Universities

  • Various events co-sponsored with the Black Student Union of Lewis University

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held every Monday at 7 p.m. in Ives Hall of the Oremus Fine Arts Building. Singers, musicians, and other forms of ministry are always welcome.

In addition to the gospel choir, students are welcome to join:

  • "A Step Above" step squad
  • "Unspoken Praise" mime team
  • "Daughters of David" praise dancers
