Student Testimony - I graduated from Lewis in 2008 with a BA in Theology. I decided after graduating I wanted to give back in some way to the Lasallian community. I decided to join Lasallian Volunteers and give back a year of my time. This year has furthered my commitment to the Lasallian charism of giving a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor by being able to live and work alongside our students. I am serving in Brooklyn, NY at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School as a Campus Minister. This year has been both challenging and rewarding. There are almost 900 students at our high school and we in campus ministry see each student on a retreat. This is where we get to connect with the students on a personal and faith level. I love seeing when our students own their faith, when they can define this is what I believe and why I believe it. At Loughlin, the faculty and staff embody what it means to be Lasallian and are the most welcoming people I have ever met in my life. I have learned so much in my year of service and am grateful to all those who have come into my life. I hope that I can continue the work of St. John Baptist de la Salle after leaving the Lasallian Volunteers.  Michelle Hoffman
