SOA/WHINSEC

School of the Americas/WHINSEC Protest - November 17-20, 2006

Journey to Ft. Bennings, GA and learn and decide for yourself about this US Army School (formerly known as SOA).  WHINSEC trains Latin American soldiers in combat, counter-insurgency, and counternarcotics.  Its graduates are responsible for some of the worst human rights abuses in Latin America.

The vigil at the SOA will be used as an opportunity to explore social justice, US international policy, and the role our Christian faith informs both. During the weekend you will hear speakers and musicians, take a tour of the base, and participate in the vigil with more than 20,000 others either in remembrance or protest.

Participate in a non-violent vigil to stand in solidarity with the abused, to speak out against terror and violence, to close SOA/WHINSEC, and to change oppressive US foreign policy.  Visit www.soaw.org and https://www.benning.army.mil/whinsec/ for more information.

For more information or to participate, contact Martha Villegas at (815) 836-5475
