International Student ServicesChecking in at the ISSAll international students and scholars are required to "check in" at the Office of International Students as soon as they arrive on campus. The Office is located in the Student Union Building in the Cultural Center. Documents Needed at "Check In" During the "check-in" international students and scholars will be asked to complete a data sheet, and to show their:
J-2 dependents must also check in at the ISS, and F-2 dependents are asked to do so as well. Remember, all matters related to you are always kept confidential. No one outside the ISS staff will have access to your file. Please take care of "checking in" as soon as possible after your arrival to the United States. Students must also purchase health insurance when they first arrive, and must sign up for the international orientation program. Beginning in 2003, each international student has a HOLD on their registration. You have to get the HOLD released before you can register for classes. A HOLD release form will be provided by the ISS staff only after they have reviewed your immigration paperwork, verified that you have completed the personal data sheet, and confirmed that your health insurance meets Lewis University’s requirements. For more information about Registration, click here. If you have questions about your academic program, you must consult with a counselor in your college or department. All students will need an "Authorization to Register Card" before they can enroll. You may also need to consult with your Academic Advisor through your department before registering.
