Masters Degree: Information Securities

Years as an RLC: Second year

Hobbies: My hobbies include weightlifting, running, football, basketball, video games, and automotive tuning and racing.

Favorite part about being an RLC: My favorite part about being an RLC is all the different personalities and characters you work with and meet while on the job. Coming from a job where you have little to no interaction with people, to this job is a huge difference. Every day you interact with people of different backgrounds and it really helps to build your communication skills.

Quick Paragraph about yourself: I graduated from Lewis University December of 2007 with a Bachelors Degree in Finance. During my undergraduate program, I was a Resident Assistant and resided in Sheil Hall. After graduation I moved to Tampa, Fl and worked for the website Career Builder. After a year, I realized that I wanted to further my education and Lewis University was the place I wanted to be at, despite the weather. I began working for the Office of Residence Life last December, and resided in North Hall. I have had a great time working for Residence Life and Lewis University and look forward to my remaining stay.

Quick paragraph about myself: I graduated this past summer as a marketing major with a computer information systems minor. I transferred to Lewis my Junior year, and have made the most out of it. I am very involved with my fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, and will continue to be since it has opened up a lot of doors for my future. I plan on getting my MBA so I don’t get stopped by the glass ceiling in the corporate world. I eventually want to own my own business.

Hall: Sheil Hall

Masters Degree: MBA

Year as an RA/RLC: 3 years as an RA- began in Sheil Hall then moved to Mother Teresa Hall for the last two years.

Hobbies: When I am not working hard for Residence Life, I find myself playing any and all sports. I am outdoors as much as possible through camping, hiking, mountain biking, golfing or any other activity that allows me to enjoy the beautiful scenery around me. I am also an HGTV fanatic and occasionally find myself trying out new recipes.

Favorite part of being an RLC: If I had to choose one aspect that I enjoy the most, it is by far my interactions with both RAs and residents. The RAs have so much talent and eagerness to help. They are always willing to listen, provide support and work hard. The diversity that the residents offer is unparalleled. The true secret about Residence Life is that we learn and grow because of our residents.

Quick paragraph about yourself: I am originally from Canton, Michigan and wandered out to Illinois on a golf scholarship. During my four years at Lewis, I played the number one position for the women’s golf team while also double majoring in both Accounting and Finance. I joined Residence Life as a sophomore and have stayed with the department ever since. Now I am in my first year of graduate school, working to attain my Masters in Business Administration. By day, I am a Department of Energy Accountant, and by night a Residence Life staff member. So far, it is a good life.
