The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) is an honor society which recognizes high-achieving first-and second-year college students. Potential members must meet or exceed the 3.4 GPA requirement at the time of invitation.
A member of the Association of College Honor Societies, NSCS was founded in 1994 and is recognized at over 250 colleges and universities in all 50 states and has over 500,000 lifetime members. The Lewis University Chapter was founded in 2004. Chapter membership currently exceeds 600 students.

Each spring semester, Lewis University students who meet the selection criteria are invited to join the organization by the national office. A formal induction ceremony for new members is held each September on campus.
