The Lewis University Alumni Association has elected John Courtney, news leader at U.S. Green Technology, to serve as president of the organization. As the president of LUAA, Courtney is committed to building a premier association for university graduates.

“Any Lewis graduate will tell you that our educational experience here resulted in much more than a diploma,” said Courtney, who completed his Master of Business Administration degree at the Lewis University Graduate School of Management in 2008. “The values we learned, the guidance we received, the people we came to love and the lifelong learning we became so passionate about are still a part of us, woven into the tapestry of our lives even today.”

Courtney currently serves on the advisory board of U.S. Green Technology. U.S. Green Technology is the leading green content aggregator and news blog for innovation in green technology and sustainability. Since its creation in January of 2009, U.S. Green Technology has provided in-depth and up-to-date information on green jobs, green start-ups and changes in green business as well as efforts to combat climate change and preserve the earth. In addition to managing U.S. Green Technology, Courtney is employed by Sears Holdings as a program manager.

Courtney was first elected to the Lewis University Alumni Association in 2008 and has served in various positions there, including treasurer and vice president. Courtney will now preside over LUAA and its nearly 39,000 alumni for the 2014–2015 term. The alumni association is an all-volunteer organization that fosters long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships between Lewis University and its alumni located throughout the United States.
