The College of Education is now offering English as a Second Language (ESL) and Bilingual Endorsement cohorts at the Lewis University Tinley Park campus with classes beginning May 28. The campus is located in the Tinley Park Campus North Creek Executive Center at 18501 Maple Creek Drive in Tinley Park.

It is available to candidates who currently hold a Professional Educator License with a Teacher Endorsement. After the 18 credit hour program, the candidate will earn an ESL Endorsement for the grade levels in which he or she is licensed. For those who are bilingual, the Bilingual Endorsement is available by finishing coursework and successfully completing the Illinois State Board of Education target language assessment.
The program offers candidates:
“The ESL or Bilingual Endorsement program with Master of Education degree option provides classroom teachers with a deeper understanding of teaching strategies to support English language learners in their classrooms and their schools,” said Dr. Barbara Mackey, program director.
Both cohorts are available at a special discounted tuition rate of $250/credit hour. For more information, contact Linda Campbell, graduate and adult admission counselor, at (815) 836-5704 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
