Published: April 18, 2014.

Members of the Lewis University Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives recently toured aviation facilities in Dallas, Texas. The trip served as a networking opportunity and provided insights on several different fields of aviation.

The AAAE members spent time at the American Airlines Flight Academy, where they received a tour of the dispatch facility, as well as the pilot training and flight simulator facility. Students also experienced the approach control facility and central control tower through tours of the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport Terminal Radar Approach Control Facilities and Centerfield Tower. A tour of the Fort Worth Center provided students an up-close view of a center controller and control aircraft in their designated sector. Students also toured the Southwest Airlines maintenance facility.

Participants of the trip included: Michael Ban, David Bouton, Austin Hill, Alex Kwiatkowski, Jacob Luedtke, Maximilian Schmelzer, Joel Weiss and Ryan Wynn.

The Lewis University chapter of AAAE is an aviation-related, student-led organization dedicated to building both social and professional relationships with existing professionals in the aviation field.
