| Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra Concerts to be held Oct. 24 & Oct. 28 |

The Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the Sancta Alberta Chapel, located at Lewis University’s main campus in Romeoville. This concert at Lewis University is open to the public and is free of charge. MYSO will also perform at 4 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Fine Arts Auditorium on the main campus of Joliet Junior College. Tickets for the performance at JJC are $7 and may be purchased at the door. Dr. Lawrence Sisk, professor of music at Lewis University, will conduct the orchestra in a program that includes Georges Bizet’s L’Arlésienne Suites No. 1 & No. 2 and Richard Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries. The program will feature Plainfield resident Jennifer Gosack. She received her master’s degree in flute performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and was recently named to the music faculty at the University of St. Francis as an adjunct professor of flute performance. Gosack will perform Concertino for Flute and Orchestra, Op. 107, by Cecile Chaminade. Founded in 1959 the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra has resided in Will County since 1991. Players in MYSO come from Lewis University and Joliet Junior College, and from area high schools and middle schools. MYSO rehearses every Wednesday evening that school is in session from 6-8:15pm at Lewis University. Visit www.mysomusic.org for more information.
