Close to 300 Lewis University students and alumni participated in the Job/Internship Fair on Feb. 21 presented by the university’s Career Services Office.
More than 60 employers were on campus to recruit Lewis students and alumni for professional jobs and internships in a variety of areas of study. Participants were able to practice interviewing skills, get valuable advice, and network with organizations in attendance.
Employers at the event included AAR Corp., American Red Cross, ATI Physical Therapy, Illinois Department of Corrections & Department of Juvenile Justice, Naperville Police Department, Peace Corps, Providence Catholic High School, SkyWest Airlines, TCF Bank and Township High School District 211, among others.
Several employers returned to the fair because they have found success in finding quality employees from Lewis University. Last summer, AAR Corp. hired five Lewis interns that served in various departments, such as AAR Quality & Safety; Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul; Corporate HR; Corporate; and Aircraft Turbine Center. Greg Dellinger, AAR Corp. Director of Recruiting, commented about previous interns from Lewis University. He said, “With strong past performance of hiring from the Lewis University pipeline, AAR Corp. understands the incredible value of a Lewis diploma.”
