Lewis University College of Nursing & Health Professions and Northwestern Memorial Hospital present Dr. Ankit Bharat, thoracic surgeon and assistant professor, for a discussion about the Spectrum of Chronic Lung Diseases in the United States at 7 p.m. March 13 at Lewis University’s Oakbrook campus.
Bharat is a thoracic surgeon at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and the Surgical Director of Lung Transplant. He has received recognition for his work in transplantation and tumor immunology. His present research is focused on the mechanism of lung graft dysfunction following transplant. Bharat is an active member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American Association of Thoracic Surgery, the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplant and the Association for Academic Surgery.
