Lewis University alumni Steve McHugh recently shared insights with students about preparing for careers, internships and the field of Marketing Research.

Steven McHugh is senior vice president of the Centers of Research Expertise (CORE) at Millward Brown. McHugh earned a marketing degree from Lewis in 1981 and he has worked in the research field for 32 years in both client servicing and operational functions.

The event was co-sponsored by the Lewis University Marketing Department and the Lewis University Student Chapter of the American Marketing Association.

Information-on-demand, technological evolution and cultural diversity are trends that require organizations to adopt new marketing strategies, such as marketing that influences product design and marketing that incorporates social feedback. Lewis University’s marketing degree curriculum combines theoretical concepts with real-world application - preparing students to take an organization into the new world of marketing.

The American Marketing Association was established in 1937 by visionaries in marketing and academia. Today, the AMA has grown to be one of the largest marketing associations in the world, with over 30,000 members who work, teach and study in the field of marketing across the globe. The AMA is constantly innovating and evolving, helping to shape the field as well as keep abreast of the changing global marketplace to help members excel in their careers.
