“Awareness… Education… Celebration” begins in October

Lewis University presents the International Education Month series

Lewis University will present “Awareness… Education… Celebration” as part of the International Education Month with a series of events all free of charge and located on the university’s main campus in Romeoville until Nov. 21.

“Awareness… Education… Celebration” is a series of university-wide events through the Office of International Student Services recognizing the increase in international scholarship by faculty, development of global perspectives in curriculum, outreach to Lasallian and non-Lasallian partners and expanded global connectedness through study abroad, international recruitment and programs. This collaborative event brings Lewis University faculty, staff and students together in celebration of its richly diverse background. The program events are organized by region: the Americas, Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Europe:
  • “Global Partnerships and Lewis University: The Future is Now!” at 12 p.m. on Nov. 18 in the University Dining Room
  • “Discover Languages: Russian” at 2 p.m. on Nov. 18 in AS-158 of the Academic Building
  • “Open House: International Services, Study Abroad Services and Enrollment” at 2 p.m. on Nov. 18 in the Student Union
  • “The Holocaust: Let’s Answer Some Questions” at 2 p.m. on Nov. 19 in the Big Red Room
  • “Study Abroad Panel and Dialogue” at 2 p.m. on Nov. 20 in the Student Union
  • “East Meets West: The Globalization of the Humanities” at 5 p.m. on Nov. 21 in the Big Red Room

The International Education Month series is being presented as a part of Lewis University’s Arts & Ideas Program, providing cultural and educational programming for students and the community. A portion of the Arts & Ideas events is sponsored by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council.
