Android app for The Lewis Flyer arrives

The award-winning student-run newspaper, The Lewis Flyer, announced the release of their mobile app available for Android devices in the Google Play store. The Flyer’s Special Projects Editor Will Hoffman developed the application, while members of the online Flyer staff contributed with design elements and features for the app.

The app is specifically made for Android devices, making the experience user-friendly and fluid. The Lewis Flyer for Android will allow users to send e-mails to the staff of, in addition to attaching photos and videos to their message. New features are expected to rollout with future software updates.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the growth of’s digital presences over the last few years and this Android application is a great example of how the student’s are using technology to engage readers online,” responded Ben Eveloff, the online adviser for The Lewis Flyer and assistant professor of Mass Communications.

The Lewis Flyer website recently won second place in the College Media Association Best of Collegiate Design for their Social Media Main Page Presentation.
