|LewisFlyer.com wins first place at ACP Convention

Lewis University’s online edition of The Flyer (TheLewisFlyer.com) won first place in the “Best in Show” contest at the 22nd Annual Associated Collegiate Press Best of the Midwest College Journalism Convention held in Minneapolis.
Kendra Mills, layout editor for the print edition of The Flyer, also won an individual award. She took fourth place for Page Design.
“I couldn’t be more excited to see TheLewisFlyer.com win “Best in Show” for Publication Website. As the advisor, I’m able to see first-hand how hard the online staff works to constantly improve the site and it’s great to see them be recognized for it,” commented Ben Eveloff, assistant professor of communications and adviser of the TheLewisFlyer.com.
The competition was open to student media from college and universities of all sizes.
Other recent awards earned by The Flyer include recognitions from the American Scholastic Press Association and Collegiate Media Association.

The Best of the Midwest Convention is a gathering of college news journalists and advisers working with print and online media. The convention offers attendees practical learning sessions led by media professionals, problem-solving discussions and networking opportunities. Other convention activities include ACP’s Best of Show contest for general excellence, Best of the Midwest individual contests and critiques of student news media.
